What types of products can you work with?
We can formulate a wide variety of coatings, adhesives, and sealants. Over the last few years we have specifically developed a core expertise in coatings for architectural, automotive, and industrial use.
What is the typical turnaround time for product development?
It depends on a variety of factors since we work with a lot of innovative technologies. Some projects take as little as 30 to 45 days to formulate while others may take 12 months. It really depends on the product requirements.
How collaborative is your process? Can I work in your lab with you?
We understand that it is extremely tempting to want to work side-by-side with us on the development of your product. Although we cannot allow clients to utilize our equipment, we rely heavily on their feedback. We also encourage visits to the Innovation Center to meet with our staff and view our facilities.
Once the product is formulated, how can I be sure that all of my requirements are met?
As part of CAS-MI Laboratories, we have the capability to test products via the specifications utilizing our state-of-the-art analytical equipment. For more information about our analytical capabilities, visit www.cas-mi.com.
Who owns my formula at the end of the development process?
Our clients own all of their formulations derived during the formulation process.
How much does a typical product development cost?
There is no typical cost of a product development project. Since we work with a variety of materials and each project is customized, prices can vary.
What if I have a great idea that I would like to have formulated, but no funding?
CAS-MI is a service provider and does not provide funding for projects. We do, however, have contacts that may be interested in your project from an investment point of view.
What is your confidentiality policy?
The confidentiality of our clients' identities and innovations are of utmost importance. While not always required, we do have confidentiality agreements in place with most of our clients. We can provide a standard agreement or utilize your contract to maximize the protection of your idea or formulation.
Can you provide me any references of past clients?
While many of our clients prefer confidentiality, we can provide a list of references of clients that have allowed us to use their name.
